He later attended the English China Inland Mission Chefoo School at Yantai when his family was living in China for some time. He was teased by his fellow students because he was highly intellectual. He started writing while he was a student. He attended The Thacher School in Ojai, California. He was brought up alongside three siblings, Amos Wilder, Charlotte Wilder and Janet Wilder. His family spent some of their time in China. He was born to Amos Parker Wilder who was a United States Diplomat and a newspaper editor and Isabella Niven Wilder. Thornton Wilder was born on April 17, 1897, in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. In his career, he won three Pulitzer Awards for his novel and plays ‘The Bridge of San Luis Rey,’ ‘Our Town’ and ‘The Skin of Our Teeth.’He was a well-known novelist who wrote passionately.
